About odysgeh

odysgeh is an open platform for planning and sharing hikes in Switzerland.

Hiking times and difficulties are computed estimates. Check weather, conditions and the signposts on site.

Privacy

We store what your account needs: e-mail address, username, display name, a password hash (argon2id) and your routes, journeys, collections, comments, likes, follows and blocks. Only what you publish, your comments on it, your display name and how many followers you have are public. If you invite someone by e-mail, we store that address for the invitation. Reports, including the reported text, are kept for moderation. For passkeys we store only the public key, for connected accounts the id and e-mail address at the provider. A single cookie keeps you logged in; there is no tracking and no advertising. National map tiles load through our server; the vector base map and fonts are loaded by your browser directly from swisstopo (geo.admin.ch). For elevation profiles our server sends route coordinates to swisstopo, for connections stops and times to opentransportdata.swiss, in both cases without any information about you. Of photos we keep only the pictures themselves: we remove metadata such as camera and location; if the location is along the route, we keep it as a pin on the map. For the Komoot import, your Komoot password goes to Komoot only; we do not store it. Server logs with IP addresses are kept only briefly for troubleshooting and abuse prevention. You can delete your account and all its content at any time under “Account”.
